Fin Robinson studied at Limerick School of Art and Design in her native Ireland and subsequently worked for The British Council in London as a graphic designer. she completed her fine art degree at the University of Hertfordshire graduating with first class honours.
Fin makes drawings using graphite and ink and also paints in oil on canvas. Her work explores the connections between body, time and space, articulating her findings through the layering and repetition of marks. The natural world and the landscape are referenced widely and the work takes on a deliberately ambiguous appearance.
The drawings produced for this exhibition take inspiration from the natural fibres used in tailoring fabrics and the creative process that begins with their organisation into weave.
