Inspired by our Bespoke overcoats, our raincoats were designed by Richard as he couldn’t find a ready-to-wear raincoat which was comfortable, well-fitting and had the necessary style. Designed and cut by Richard, the raincoat’s pattern is cut a little roomier at the top to accommodate a suit jacket, while being fitted at the waist and flared through the side-seams.
Cut long to go over the knee for maximum protection but can be shortened to be taken above the knee if necessary (max shortening 3”).
Our ready-to-wear Single-Breasted Ventile Raincoats are a firm favourite here at Richard Anderson. Available in smart navy and traditional antique bronze, these coats are the perfect addition to throw on over your favourite outfit. The revolutionary and water-resistant Ventile® fabric was developed by scientists at the Shirley Institute in Manchester to protect the pilots from immediate soaking and extended their life expectancy to 20 minutes. The fabric became a staple supply for the RAF and is still used in RAF and NATO flight suits today. Our models feature a fly front with vertical welted pockets, wrist wraps and a tab and button on the collar, chain hanger, and two vertical inside pockets with zips.
Styled over a single breasted navy serge coat, white shirt, deep scarlet silk tie with silver polka dots and paisley 100% cashmere scarf (available in-store).
