Here at Richard Anderson, we want to help you care for your clothing and ensure it remains in prime condition throughout its life. We do this by offering an after-care service like no other.
We will consider it a privilege to offer the cleaning, pressing and alteration services described below.
Cleaning
Clothing should be cleaned only when necessary because overcleaning is detrimental to natural fibres. Our cleaners will, after careful inspection, clean your garment with the utmost care and treat any stains with great expertise. Do bear in mind that some stains are untreatable, and it does help if you can tell us the cause.
Hand Pressing
Hand pressing is of extreme importance and will increase longevity and maintain the garments appearance. All hand pressing is done on our premises by the experts involved in the original making process.
Alterations
When repairs or alterations are necessary, please return the garment so that we can assess what is necessary and advise accordingly.
Body size and/or posture often change with the passing of time making alterations necessary. The inlays left during the make and construction of the garment enables us to make extensive changes. We will be pleased to refit, recut if necessary and alter accordingly whenever possible. This complicated work will be done with the same loving care as in its original make. All work is overseen by Richard Anderson himself and no effort will be spared to restore the garment’s condition as near as possible to when new.
Invisible Mending
Our invisible menders are peerless and have often saved a garment for years of further use. This service is best suited to those unfortunate small moth holes by using a small amount of yarn from the hems or inlays for a repair that is almost completely untraceable.
