In January, Richard was presented the Long Service Award at The Mayfair Times Community Awards. The award category is given to “someone who has served the local community for many years and has enhanced the lives of others”, and after more than 40 years working on and contributing to Savile Row, Richard Anderson has done just that.
As many of you may know, Richard began his journey at the young age of 17 where he started work at Huntsman on Savile Row. 17 years later, Richard, with business partner Brian opened Richard Anderson Ltd. at 13 Savile Row, where he and his team have been creating beautiful bespoke and ready-to-wear pieces ever since. “When I arrived on Savile Row 40 years ago, I wanted to take the tradition and quality that the older tailors had established and bring a more contemporary feel, that would appeal to a younger generation,” Richard explains.

Richard’s vision was always to draw on the tradition and craftsmanship of Savile Row to create suits of life-long quality for modern men and women. He’s been dedicated to this since opening in 2001 and is still dedicated to this day. Richard and the team pride themselves on the house style, the innovations they bring to The Row, their customers, and the quality of service offered.
Congratulations to Richard on receiving well deserved recognition.
