After Tailors
65 x 85 cm Pen & Indian Ink, Pergamenata

A painter from London, Jauslin’s work shows a passionate use of oil paint as a contemporary medium.

“Tailoring seems a seriously beautiful mathematical world,” says Jauslin. “The cutting boards are islands with their individual landscapes and landmarks. Planning, strategy, mysteriously glamorous and timed.” Her work is drawn in pen and Indian ink on Pergamenata paper, translucent and tactile, “a contemporary paper resembling an ancient natural parchment”. “I found myself immersed in a sartorial wonderland,” she writes.
