Alpaca Sports Coat

This beautiful jacket is cut in the Richard Anderson Classic Sport Coat style, button 1, 2 vents with slant and flapped side pockets. The fibre for this striking Sports Coat comes from the Alpaca, a domesticated species of South American camelid, somewhat resembling a small Llama. Living in herds, they graze on the level heights of the Andes of Ecuador, southern Peru, northern Bolivia and Chile at an altitude of 3500 to 5000 metres above sea level. In common with Vicuna, Guanaco and other uncommon animals, nature has cleverly provided them with a coat ideally suited to their challenging climatic conditions; but because the Alpaca is easier to farm, the price is considerably less expensive.

The Alpaca fibre when woven produces a light, airy cloth making a wonderfully comfortable sports coat. Although the handle is luxuriously soft it is springy and naturally crease resistant. It is available in three gloriously rich shades of brown or an oatmeal with brown window pane check.
